ICHF Events is launching an online version of its hugely popular show, Cake International in the absence of the live event at ExCel, London due to the coronavirus lockdown measures.
The event will see a series of well-known cake artists give demos in 45-minute slots. The demos will be interspersed by content from Cake International's suppliers and exhibitors.
Competition
A Cake International virtual competition will run alongside the virtual event. The competition will be open to all with categories, rules, judging and prize giving mirroring the live event. Entrants can submit images of their favourite cake for judging led by Head Judge David Close, with prizes courtesy of The Cake Decorating Company. All entries will be submitted via a photo and the images will be displayed on Facebook.
Cake International Learning Hub
Virtual in-depth workshops and demonstrations will be held in a private Facebook group from £3 per person. All the revenue from the learning hub sessions will go directly to the artists involved. The learning hubs will run from 2nd April onwards. Further details can be found on the Cake International Facebook page.
Cake International Business Hub
For trade customers, Cake International will deliver live webinars with leading cake industry figures on a series of business topics. These will be insightful sessions aimed at the trade to share expert knowledge to grow a cake business.
Helen Manley, event director said: "In these very difficult times we wanted to bring some of the magic of the show into the homes of our many cake fans. We are so heartened by the amazing response to this, both from our exhibitors, suppliers and artists and also the many loyal followers of the show. Creativity at times like this is important, as of course, is cake."
