Where are you based? When did the company start? Martin Vosloo created Paint Master, the manufacturer of Tjhoko Paint, in 2001. Over the years, Paint Master has expanded its range of paint products and developed a strong paint heritage based on three generations of expertise and application knowledge. The company operates out of Randfontein, Gauteng, South Africa. The user-friendly website offers information on becoming a Paint Master stockist, and the company also provides expert painting teams for various projects. Paint Master’s locally manufactured paint range offers exceptional performance and quality, with a wide variety of colours to ensure long-lasting and attractive results for all paint needs. One of Paint Master’s notable products is Tjhoko Paint, an innovative decorative chalk paint. Tjhoko Paint stands out for its smooth application, user-friendliness, non-toxic composition, eco-friendliness, and food safety. This water-based chalk paint comes in an extensive range of colours and features a built-in primer and sealer, eliminating the need for timeconsuming sanding before application and waxing after. And the good news is that there’s even more on the way! Talk us through the current products you’re particularly excited about. Do you have a favourite? Currently, with such a wide range of products it’s difficult to name just one that we’re excited about, but what comes to mind apart from our paint range is our book which was published last year. It really tells the story of how each colour represents someone or something significant in the business – from our factory workers to our beloved dog, Maestro, all have paint colours named after them. It truly showcases the heart behind the products and our mission has always been to empower those around us and create a community of creatives where everyone feels welcomed and seen and can embrace the wonderful gift of art and creation. Hobby & crafts have boomed over the last two years! Have you noticed any new trends? In a day and age where costs constantly rise, the trend of self-creation is taking a forefront. It has also become therapeutic and there’s a sense of joy and accomplishment with creations we invest our time and energy into. The following trends are noteworthy: Earth tones: Expect a rise in popularity for colours inspired by nature, including warm browns, muted greens, and soft terracotta. These natural hues infuse spaces with a cozy, grounding ambiance. Neutrals: Neutral shades like off-whites, soft greys, and subtle beiges will maintain their dominance in interior design. They serve as versatile backdrops, allowing other design elements to shine and ensuring a clean and timeless aesthetic. Jewel tones: Look out for the resurgence of deep, opulent jewel tones such as emerald green, sapphire blue, and amethyst purple. These rich colours add a luxurious and lavish touch to any room, making a bold, captivating statement. Monochromatic schemes: The trend of sticking to a single colour family and playing with different shades and tones within that spectrum is gaining traction.
