56 Variety from Viridian David Husbands, Director of Viridian Distribution talks to Craft Focus about the year ahead! Tell us a little bit about the company. Viridian Distribution is nestled in Bristol, in the Southwest of England and has been trading in the industry for around 25 years. Who founded the company and why? I founded the company after I left a retail company, I’d been a director of. I wanted to focus more on trade distribution. How has the company evolved? What’s new? When Viridian first started trading, we only had Opal sock and sweater yarn (which is made in the original self-pattering yarn factory by the children of the founder) and some Clover items. We then became the first UK distributor to introduce KnitPro to the UK. Later, we introduced Eucalan and expanded to cover all Clover items. Talk us through the current products you’re particularly excited about. Do you have a favourite? Opal sock and sweater yarn is great. We get about eight new ranges a year. It’s always exciting to see what the new ranges will look like. Do your products suit all levels of crafters? Across our ranges there’s always
