Read on for your essential show guide This January, thousands of exhibitors and visitors will descend on Frankfurt for Creativeworld, Paperworld and Christmasworld 2020. Over four days, more than 350 Creativeworld exhibitors will be on hand to showcase the latest craft launches, with this year’s event championing the on-trend themes of making, repairing and recycling by hand. “When we launched Creativeworld as an independent trade fair 10 years ago, we chose not only the right time but also the right way to go about it,” says Michael Reichhold, the event’s director. “Being unrivalled worldwide is a great responsibility. Accordingly, we are very aware that our job is to reflect the world market, to be a trend barometer and a source of ideas, and to advise the entire sector.” As always, there will be a complementary programme of events for visitors. “We present tomorrow’s trends, offer concept areas on subjects relevant to the sector and hold workshops and product demonstrations for the specialist trade,” continues Michael. “At the fiercely competitive point of sale, everyone must spotlight their core areas of expertise to entice customers. We see personal advice and visual communication as particular strengths of the specialist trade.” WINDOW DRESSING In Creativeworld Trends, visitors will be able to view a variety of craft projects, all made from materials supplied by exhibitors. Retailers can find inspiration for shop windows and in-store presentations, while buyers will have an opportunity to ask questions and learn new techniques. The Stilbüro bora.herke.palmissano design studio has developed three trend statements under the ‘work in progress’ banner, and there will be a renewed focus on street art, with Carlos Lorente of the Style Scouts Graffiti Academy providing attendees with a chance to discover the intricacies of the art form. Elsewhere, the Creativeworld Academy will offer a series of inspiring workshops and product demonstrations, allowing retailers to learn how each item can be used. The Creative Impulse Award is celebrating its 15th anniversary with two new categories. “In addition to the existing awards for product, complete set, tool and book, we are adding artist’s product of the year,” says Michael. A sustainable product category has also been introduced. PAPER PROFITS Presenting the latest stationery and office trends, Paperworld will feature 1,500 exhibitors from more than 60 countries including suppliers of gifts, packaging solutions and celebration products.
