I love gul ls for that reason, but also because they always seem to be ful l of character and ready to play funny tricks on tourists. I stil l remember queuing for ages to buy a sandwich on a beach in C ornwal l, only to have it snatched out of my hand by a naughty seagul l!” MATERIALS • 20cm x 20cm (8in x 8in) felt in white • 10cm x 15cm (4in x 6in) felt in light grey • 5cm x 5cm (2in x 2in) felt in yellow and black • Embroidery threads in silver grey, beige, black, white and yellow • 15g (½oz) toy filling • Approximately 50cm (19¾in) of 18-gauge florist wire • Brown florist tape TOOLS • Scissors (paper, fabric and embroidery) • Pen or pencil • Embroidery needle • Pins • Long-nose cutting pliers • Glue stick TEMPLATES • Two bodies in white • One breast in white • Two wings in light grey • Two tails in black • Two beaks in yellow
