43 CRAFT TRENDS FOR 2025 As we look ahead to 2025, the world of crafts, stationery, and hobbies is set to evolve in exciting ways. Sustainability, technology, mindfulness, and nostalgia will define the creative landscape. Here are the key trends: 1. Eco-Friendly Crafting. Sustainability is set to take centre stage, with more crafters choosing eco-conscious materials. Biodegradable glitters, plant-based dyes, and recycled paper will become the go-to supplies for environmentally friendly crafting. Expect an emphasis on waste reduction and ecofriendly packaging in DIY kits. 2. Tech-Enhanced Stationery. Stationery will continue its tech revolution. Smart notebooks and pens that digitize handwritten notes are set to rise in popularity alongside augmented reality (AR) planners and interactive greeting cards. This trend blends the physical and digital, enhancing how people create and organise. 3. Mindful hobbies. As mental wellness takes priority, hobbies that promote mindfulness, such as mandala drawing, zen gardening, and mindful journaling, will grow. These crafts will offer people a creative outlet to relax and de-stress. 4. Personalised DIY Kits. Subscription boxes offering curated craft supplies will cater to niche interests like soap-making and miniature sculpting. These kits will provide hobbyists with unique, personalised experiences delivered right to their door. 5. Retro Revival. Nostalgic crafts like cross-stitch, macramé, and vinyl record collecting will experience a resurgence. This retro trend will appeal to both older generations reconnecting with past hobbies and younger crafters discovering them anew. In 2025, I believe the craft world will be all about pastel colours, a shift from the earthy tones we’ve seen in recent years, and a stronger focus on mindfulness. People are seeking more than just a hobby; they’re looking for ways to blend creativity with well-being. Pastel hues—soft lilacs, mint greens, peach tones— will be everywhere, bringing a gentle calm that fits perfectly with the growing mindfulness movement. Crafting is becoming a key way for people to disconnect from screens and reconnect with themselves. For example, I’ve woven this idea into my new book, Mindful Macrame, which combines macrame projects with journaling and breathwork—a true blend of creativity and wellness. There’s also a beautiful rise in shared craft experiences. People love gathering to create together, whether in workshops with friends or even as part of a creative getaway. I’ve seen this firsthand with my Macrame Retreat, a yearly event where women from all over the world spend five days in a secluded spot, knotting, unwinding, and nourishing their minds, bodies & creative souls. It’s a real escape, and to me, it embodies the heart of what 2025’s crafting trends are all about: crafting, relaxation, and meaningful connection.
