Spotlight on Creative Products Distribution Mark Wilson MBA, Director of Creative Products Distribution Ltd gives us the insight into his glue and adhesive offering Tell us a bit about Creative Products Distribution! Creative Products Distribution was found 14 years ago with the aim of bringing quality craft products to the UK market. I’ve been in the craft market for 30 years and worked at two other craft companies. We’ve recently moved into our new warehouse based in Stevenage Hertfordshire which will enable us to hold even more stock and offer a next-day delivery service. We stock the Beacon Adhesive range which is made in Mount Vernon USA and is a third-generation family-owned company. We’ve seen a large growth in sales because the quality is so good, and the glues work well with almost all crafts. Beacon is stocked by most of the major retailers in the USA. Tell us a bit about your product ranges. Our core range is Beacon Adhesives, we hold and distribute our stock from Stevenage in Hertfordshire via DPD. We have many fast-selling lines in the Beacon range for papercraft, fabric glues and rhinestone glues. In addition, we sell the Odif range made in France. This high quality range has the popular 505 spray and the new 505 fabric glue stick. What are your top adhesives for papercraft? We’re fortunate to have two excellent papercraft glues. The Beacon Advanced 3-in-1 glue dries clearly, quickly and flexibly. This glue will not bleed through the paper as it’s solvent based and unlike water-based products it won’t wrinkle the paper. The 118ml bottle is fitted with a fine precision applicator nozzle. Several TV demonstrators use 3-in-1 on their shows. Box markers love 3-in-1 for its fast grab. Zip Dry is our premium papercraft glue and comes in a 59ml bottle. From the minute you open the lid, it just wants to dry. Acid and lignin free this glue is used by invitation makers and elite card makers. Archival quality can be used on vellum. It’s strong enough to bond glitter, metal, beads and buttons. What glue can solve any job? I’ve been in the trade a long time and never found a glue that solves every problem but if I had to take a glue to a desert island it would be Beacon 527 - it goes on smooth and clear and is very 72
