PENTEL (STATIONERY) LTD. Stand: M300 www.pentel.co.uk Pentel will be highlighting its comprehensive range of art materials and creative products at this year’s LSS, together with exciting new products and plastic-free packaging. A Japanese company with inherent expertise in brush pen technology, Pentel is the #HomeoftheBrushPen. Its range includes products suitable for all levels of ability, from beginners to experienced practitioners, in a multitude of colours. What makes the Pentel brush pen range so special and beloved by users is a combination of the quality of the inks and the durability of the tips. Products such as DualMetallic Brush, Milky Brush, Colour Brush, Brush Sign Pen Artist and Pocket Brush have totally flexible nylon brush tips which retain their shape, unlike traditional brushes made with animal hair. Brush Sign Pen and Brush Sign Pen Twin have slightly flexible fibre brush tips, perfect for learning and developing hand lettering and modern calligraphy skills. Six new fluorescent colours in the Brush Sign Pen range will be on show at this year’s London Stationery Show. Pentel Paint Markers can be used on a wide variety of surfaces, including card, wood, metal, plastic, glass and stone, making them versatile for many craft and creative projects, from decorating bespoke gifts to producing dramatic designs on canvas. Available in super fine, fine or medium point there are 21 colours in the range, including five new pearlescent shades. We think we know everything there is to know about gel pens – they’ve been around for several decades after all. Mattehop, from Pentel, is a true innovation in gel ink technology. Until now gel pens were unsuitable for use on coated or glossy paper, including photographs. Mattehop, however, can be used to write on most types of paper, making it perfect for scrapbooking, card making and writing and other creative projects. When dry, the vivid, opaque ink looks like matte plastic. Some 14 colours are available in the range, from vibrant primary colours to softer shades. EnerGel is Pentel’s bestselling pen range for everyday writing or journaling. The original quick drying pen, EnerGel is suitable for both right and left-handed writers because it resists smudging on hands and paper. Many different styles are available in tip sizes from 0.5mm fine point to 1.0mm broad tip. The bestselling product in the range is EnerGel Xm Retractable, which is available in 0.5mm and 0.7mm (medium) tip sizes. The medium tip is available in 20 ink colours, all of which can be refilled. Most EnerGel products are refillable and the majority are made using a minimum of 50 per cent recycled material. A variety of multipacks are available for the most popular products in the range, ideal for gifting or crafting. Attractive merchandising units are available for Pentel products, to provide impact at the point of sale. Many of these will be on display at the London Stationery Show. DIFFERENTIATE DESIGN TRADING AS POP-UP FRAMES Stand: G206 www.popupframes.co.uk Pop-up Frames were launched at The London Stationery Show last year and have been a regular feature on Create & Craft TV ever since and can be found in numerous independent retailers across the UK. The patented, one-size-fits-all, selfassembly kits are stylishly simple and surprisingly solid. They’re made from FSC certified 300-400gsm high grade paper from Italy and manufactured in Europe – a sustainable framing option. Crafters and artists can assemble frames to the size they need in a few minutes with just a pair of scissors and hang without nails. They can display their work to buyers or create their own gallery walls in a fraction of the time and the cost of sourcing conventional frames. The Small Pop-up Frames can be cut to six sizes from 15cm to 30cm, but the new Pop-up Poster Frames, launched this year, can be cut to 28 different sizes from 30cm up to 92cm. 42
