ARTIST APPROVED With its second trade show in March, ArtisanMadeuk is set to double in size in 2024. Here, Organiser Andy Lynan, tells us more... When was the inaugural trade show? ArtisanMadeuk held its first event in March 2023 featuring the work of 80 artists. The event was well attended for a first show and the artists were very happy with the number of orders received. What can buyers expect from the 2024 Show? Our 2024 show has over 150 artists and makers set to exhibit What makes this trade show different? ArtisanMadeuk was created and developed in a partnership between an events organiser and a small group of artists who have exhibited in the trade industry for a good number of years. Trade events have always been notoriously expensive to exhibit at and often price new and emerging artists out of the market. ArtisanMadeuk is different and offers artists and makers larger spaces at a quarter of the price compared to other shows of this nature. ArtisanMadeuk is held in a working cattle auction mart and the stalls are the animal pens normally filled with sheep and cows. Although an extremely unusual venue, this event follows on from retail shows Art in the Pen as well as Crafts in the Pen which will be heading into their 18th and 9th annual events this year. These events combined welcome up to 10,000 visitors per year. What types of products are on offer? Fine art, jewellery, ceramics, textiles and textile art, woodwork, metals, glass, papercrafts, homeware and gifts What exhibitors are already signed up? Our 2024 event has over 150 artists signed up to exhibit. You can view the line up on the artist directory on the website. Who can attend? This event is only open to the trade industry - this includes art galleries, garden centres, florists, tourist information centres and shops and stores that sell handcrafted gifts. How can visitors and exhibitors find out costs and more info? Trade buyers can register to attend on the website. Exhibitors can also still apply to exhibit through the application form online.
