Karl and Ros founded the company as they wished to utilise Karl's experience and continue supporting the John T Marshall brand with repairs and servicing and also offer quality printing plates.
How has the company evolved?
Originally, we were offering repair and servicing to existing hot foil presses in the market along with refurbishing and selling preloved models. The JTM presses became scarcer but there was still a desire for hot foil presses, so it seemed a natural progression to begin making our own KSF range of presses.
What do you specialise in?
We offer hot foil solutions, if you have a product and it can be foiled, we can create a machine to do it.
Talk us through the current products/ machinery you're excited about.
We don't rest on our laurels; we react to customer feedback and if they suggest something they would like on a press or a tweak we're constantly looking to evolve and improve models. We've recently been requested to produce a press that can print frisbees for disc golf and it's surprising how big that market is!
A lot more people are approaching us that are taking a hobby to the next level and making it there permanent job. Wedding stationers are probably still our biggest user of presses.
How would you advise a designer/ small business who is interested in using your machines?
Come and have a try! We welcome visitors to come and trial our presses and see what can be achieved on their products.
What sets you apart from your competitors?
Our machines are built to last! Our machines are hand built to the highest of standards using industrial grade materials, most of it locally sourced.
Do you visit any trade shows? Do you plan to visit any soon?
There are no plans currently to visit any shows and we rarely visit any, we encourage clients to visit us and immerse themselves in the experience offered here.
What are you looking forward to most over the next year?
We love introducing customers to hot foiling and if we can continue to do that, we will be happy!
What new features / opportunities can we expect from you in the future?
We currently have a couple of machines in the works and are collaborating with some other companies to increase our worldwide reach.
